Jamaican actress lands role on CBS hit series

According to Loop News, Jamaican-born Shauna Chin has landed a role on the popular CBS television series Criminal Minds.

The Los Angeles based actress, who is from Montego Bay, St James, is set to begin shooting the show today, December 10. Chin will appear as briefly a doctor in the show. “It’s a small role but it’s a big opportunity on many levels,” Chin told Loop News. She added: “After you get your first Prime-time role, it gets easier. So I’m nervous and excited about what the future holds.”

She is best known for her guest starring role on the Jamaican television series The Blackburns of Royal Palm Estate and the Festival De Cannes award winning short film Choices. Chin was appointed National Association of Jamaican and Supportive Organizations Goodwill Ambassador in 2011.
